WrestlePosium Call For Proposals!
The Pro Wrestling Studies Association (PWSA) welcomes submissions for WrestlePosium 2026, an engaging virtual symposium focused on the interdisciplinary study of professional wrestling. This event brings together wrestling scholars, industry professionals, creators, fans, and inquisitive minds from across the globe to share pioneering research, creative perspectives, and diverse insights into wrestling culture, history, media, performance, and beyond.
Title: WrestlePosium 7: Clash of Narratives — Storytelling, Scholarship, and Cultural Performance in Wrestling
Date: Saturday, April 25th, 2026
Format: Virtual (live presentations via video conferencing, with recordings available for later viewing)
Time: 11-5 EST
Submission Types:
Individual presentations (up to 15 minutes)
Roundtable discussions (approx. 30-45 min)
Complete panels (approx 60 min)
We encourage interdisciplinary approaches and welcome proposals that challenge conventions, offer fresh perspectives, or deepen the understanding of the wrestling industry and scholarship. Submissions that explore cultural storytelling, narratives, and their intersections with global society will receive special consideration.
Accepted abstracts and proposals will be considered for publication in the next volume of the Pro Wrestling Studies Journal (PWSJ), scheduled for release in Summer 2026. Please refer to the timeline below for important dates and deadlines.
