Professional Wrestling Studies Journal: Call For Papers

The Professional Wrestling Studies Journal (PWSJ) is currently canvassing for our sixth issue! PWSJ is a professional, academic journal published by the Professional Wrestling Studies Association that is dedicated to focusing and cultivating in-depth analysis of the world and culture of the professional wrestling industry. We welcome a large variety of works, in an even larger variety of methodologies. We look to expand our audiences' understanding of professional wrestling, past and present, through cultural, social, economic, and political lenses.

Paper Submission Guidelines

All papers submitted to the PWSJ must be original scholarly work, and free of plagiarism. Any images not belonging to the author(s) require copyright clearance and must be properly credited. Papers will be converted to PDFs for publication, so hyperlinks should work. All papers must follow standard MLA formatting requirements, and have a maximum word count of 8,000 words, including a 250 word abstract and bibliography. All submissions must be free of identifying information for blind review.

Book review Submission Guidelines

PWSJ welcomes detailed, well-analyzed, and insightful book reviews on popular and scholarly texts with a primary focus on professional wrestling. All reviews must follow standard MLA formatting requirements, and have a maximum of 1,000 words. Please begin all book reviews with the following information about the text being reviewed:

“Author. Title. Publisher, Date. ##pp. $xx. xx pbk/hdc.”
